DICE has deployed a client hotfix for Battlefield 6 on Oct. 22, and if you’re on the new Season 5 maps you need to download it to be able to play again. This is Battlefield 6 client hotfix version 1.000.037, and it’s intended to help stability issues which have been preventing users from accessing the Vegas Strip and Area 51 environments. This Battlefield 6 patch is important for anyone looking to dive into the current season’s content, as it’ll prevent you from moving forward with the game until you have it installed. We’ve seen some similar stability issues arise with past patches, and so this is part of the same trend of small updates for the live service.

Update fixes map access blockers and disables Mk24 mount

First and foremost, this release is here to fix any connection and stability issues you might be having on the new maps. DICE has confirmed that this client hotfix is meant to fix the blockers for accessing these new maps and environments. Without this specific patch, you won’t be able to enter matches in these new maps. The developer also wanted to stress that it is important to download the patch before being able to play again.

In addition to fixing the maps, DICE has also temporarily disabled or is investigating a number of known bugs as well. For example, the Mk24 Underbarrel Attachment (or Underslung Mount as it’s otherwise known) is now disabled because of unintended interactions with other game elements. Likewise, airstrikes have been temporarily disabled in Rapid Royale to avoid issues with gameplay. On top of that, the Vegas Strip map has been removed from the Rush game mode due to an issue with the initial M-COM target.

There’s a number of other temporary disabled or investigational issues in this release as well. You might still experience the revive prompt bug in Battle Royale. That’s something that DICE is actively investigating.

Vehicle health regeneration delays are also noted as an issue that hasn’t been resolved yet. So, these temporary fixes offer a look into the ongoing efforts to balance stability with features in the current season.

This release fits right in with the trend set by other releases. For instance, the last update, 1.000.031, was focused a lot on these themes of balance and stability. We talked about Battlefield 6’s last update when we wrote about it, and there were a lot of similar themes of balance and stability. DICE is working to rectify systems, not just crashes, and so with this latest patch they’re able to ensure you’ll be able to access the core maps for Season 5, with some features still in the test phase.
