Asus introduced the ROG Strix XG27UCMG, a 27-inch Fast IPS gaming monitor that prioritizes extreme refresh rates for competitive players. This display matters because it lets users trade resolution for speed, offering a path to frame rates that exceed standard 4K limits. Gamers who need the lowest possible input lag can now access hardware designed specifically for that bottleneck.

The monitor features a Triple Mode design that allows switching between three distinct resolution and refresh rate configurations. You can run the panel at 4K with a 240 Hz native refresh rate, drop to QHD for 400 Hz with overclocking, or shrink to FHD to hit 488 Hz with overclocking. This flexibility means buyers do not have to commit to a single performance profile for their entire gaming library.
