Unofficial software now allows AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT users to run NVIDIA's DLSS 5 Neural Rendering in supported games. This development matters because it offers a significant performance boost for players who want higher frame rates without upgrading hardware. The tool injects the technology into DirectX 12 games that support AMD's FSR, effectively bridging a gap between competing rendering pipelines.

Unofficial mod enables NVIDIA technology on AMD hardware
The update comes from developer danielblnc, who released Alpha 0.4.3 of the DLSS-NR-on-AMD mod. This version introduces a new rendering mode called Fast mode, which is now the default for all RX 9000-series GPUs. Fast mode uses cheaper arithmetic operations to improve speed while keeping visual differences from the full Reference mode barely noticeable.
- DLSS-NR-on-AMD Version: Alpha 0.4.3
- Cyberpunk 2077 Performance: 75 FPS at 1080p
- Rendering Mode: Fast mode
- Target Comparison: RTX 5070 Ti
Performance gains are substantial with the new release. Alpha 0.4.3 provides an 18-20% performance boost over version 0.4.2 for RX 9000-series cards running in Fast mode. Early builds of the tool struggled to maintain playable frame rates, often dipping below 30 FPS, but recent updates have driven these numbers much higher.
In testing, the RX 9070 XT reached 75 FPS at 1080p in Cyberpunk 2077 with DLSS 5 Neutral Rendering enabled in Fast mode. The developer states that overall image quality is very similar to native DLSS 5 on GeForce hardware, though some effects might not be fully on par. The long-term aim remains matching the output of an RTX 5070 Ti.
Users interested in this mod must ensure they are running Windows 11 and have recent Adrenalin drivers installed. We covered the last Radeon RX 9070 XT update, and several of the same balance and stability themes came up. This latest patch continues the effort to refine performance and visual fidelity for AMD users adopting third-party rendering tools.
