Acer has announced the Predator Atlas 8, a new handheld gaming device designed to bring full PC-level gaming into a portable form factor. Acer introduced the Predator Atlas 8 to compete with existing handhelds designed for full PC gaming experiences.

Portable gaming device packs discrete graphics and high-speed connectivity for extended play sessions

The Predator Atlas 8 runs on 's Arc G-Series platform and features up to an Arc B390 graphics chip, marking Acer's entry into the discrete GPU handheld space. The device is equipped with a large 8-inch WUXGA touchscreen display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate and variable refresh rate (VRR) technology for smoother gameplay.

Under the hood, the system supports up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a 1TB PCIe Gen4 SSD for storage. It also includes an 80Wh battery designed to sustain extended gaming sessions, along with dual Thunderbolt 4 ports for high-speed data transfer and external display connectivity.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, ensuring robust wireless performance for online multiplayer and controller pairing. The device features a dual-fan cooling system to manage thermal output during intensive gaming loads, and it ships with Windows 11 pre-installed alongside access to Xbox Game Pass.

The device will be available in North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Australia starting in October 2026. Pricing information and precise release schedules have not been provided at this time.
