Robert Henrysson has stepped down as chief executive officer of Supermassive Games, the developer behind titles like The Dark Pictures and Until Dawn. His departure marks the end of a leadership period that saw the studio release several major projects. The leadership transition impacts the studio's management structure and ongoing development projects.

Robert Henrysson leaves the studio after releasing key titles

Henrysson assumed the role of CEO at Supermassive Games in January 2024 after a long career in the industry. He previously served as the chairman of Avalanche Studios from 2017 to 2024. His arrival at Supermassive Games followed his tenure at the parent company, Nordisk Games, where he also held leadership positions.

During his time leading Supermassive Games, the studio released The Casting of Frank Stone, Little Nightmares 3, and Directive 8020. These titles represent the core output of the studio under his executive direction. The release of these games defines the recent creative output of the company.

In his farewell message, Henrysson described his time at the company as a rewarding chapter of his professional life. He stated that he is leaving to focus on family, investments, and potential advisory roles. He praised the team as the greatest storytelling game studio on earth and wished them well in the future.
