SEGA has released version 1.41 for Sonic Racing CrossWorlds on PC and PlayStation 5, introducing playable characters and gameplay adjustments to mark the franchise's 35th anniversary. The patch provides classic character skins and new cosmetic items, allowing fans to enjoy nostalgic content immediately rather than waiting for a major release.

The patch adds Classic Sonic as a selectable racer alongside the existing roster. Developers also introduced Mach Cyclone as a new machine option that fits into the game's standard vehicle classes. New playable characters are now included in both competitive online matches and local cooperative play sessions.
SEGA included eight new Gadget items that players can equip before each race. The update adjusts balance parameters for existing tracks to improve competitive fairness. The update includes adjustments to vehicle physics and controls that apply across various difficulty levels to improve overall stability during races.

The release features 15 collaboration decals from well-known brands and special music tracks composed for the anniversary event. Players on PC can now use DualSense controllers with full button mapping support. The update also adds voice chat functionality in Mandarin Chinese for regional players.
