Riot Games is preparing to expand the tactical shooter Valorant with new content for the upcoming Act 4 update. This addition matters to players who want fresh tactical challenges and new visual styles before the current season ends. The studio is introducing a new map, a distinct 3v3 game mode, and a themed cosmetic collection. These changes offer a break from the standard 5v5 format and provide new objectives for the community.

Riot Games introduces Summit map and 3v3 Retake mode for the upcoming update

The centerpiece of this update is a new map called Summit. Riot Games designed this location to fit the tactical gameplay loop that defines the title. Alongside the map, the developer is launching a new 3v3 bomb defusal mode named Retake. This mode shifts the focus from large-scale team fights to smaller, high-stakes rounds. Players will need to coordinate closely to plant or defuse the spike in a tighter environment.

The game will also receive a new cosmetic skinline called Blackspyre. This collection will allow players to customize their agents with a dark, thematic aesthetic. These items will be accessible via the standard in-game store or through bundle offerings. Riot Games has not yet detailed the specific items included in the Blackspyre set, but the naming suggests a cohesive visual theme.

All these features are scheduled to arrive during Act 4. This update introduces a new content cycle and resets specific competitive metrics. The new map and mode will be available in both casual and ranked game modes. Cosmetic items are expected to be obtainable through standard progression or microtransactions.
