Grinding Gear Games released patch 0.5.3 for Path of Exile 2 to address player feedback regarding the current endgame balance. The update targets specific mechanics that players found either too punishing or insufficiently rewarding for the time invested. This change matters because it directly alters the risk and reward structure for players engaging with the game's most challenging content.
GGG adjusts Delirium scaling and Grand Expeditions to improve endgame pacing
The patch introduces significant adjustments to the Delirium league mechanics to improve progression flow. Developers fixed Simulacrum scaling to increase from 100% to 200% and removed wave modifiers that previously hindered clear speed. The update also adds new mirror shard choices to give players more control over their Delirium experience.
Technical changes extend to the Grand Expeditions and Temple passive systems. Grand Expeditions now require 25% fewer explosives and feature higher-rarity chests, while Rune of Aldur Remnants rewards have doubled in value. The Temple passive skill received a complete overhaul, replacing the previous effect with a Vaal-themed beacon mechanic that corrupts nearby monsters.
Additional updates improve combat stability and character survivability across the Atlas. Breach strongholds have been enlarged and assigned additional modifiers to increase their difficulty and scope. The Runeforging system now allows armor conversions to retain more base stats, including Armor, Energy Shield, and Evasion values.
Jonathan Rogers stated that the goal is to ensure all content types remain worth investing time into. He acknowledged that the league quality declined at the highest difficulty levels, prompting this round of fixes. We looked at the last path of exile 2 update earlier while tracking balance changes and stability themes.
The patch is now live for all players on the standard and hardcore leagues. These changes aim to stabilize the endgame economy and improve the overall pacing of high-level content.
