RPCS3 Developers Ask Users to Stop Submitting AI-Generated Code Without Testing

The team behind the RPCS3 PlayStation 3 emulator has updated its contribution guidelines to address a surge in low-quality code submissions. The developers are asking users to stop submitting code generated by artificial intelligence without proper understanding or testing.

New rules require AI disclosure and testing

Under the new rules, contributors must disclose any use of AI tools and explain the testing they performed on the code. Pull requests that fail to meet these requirements may be closed without review. The team warned that users who continue to submit poor-quality AI-generated code could be banned from the repository.

The policy emphasizes that human responsibility remains essential for all code contributions. The RPCS3 project is open-source and relies on community submissions to improve compatibility and performance for PS3 game emulation.

The developers have not commented on how many submissions have been affected or whether any bans have already been issued. The updated guidelines are now in effect on the project's GitHub repository.
