Microsoft released the new 13.8-inch Surface Laptop featuring Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Plus and X2 Elite processors. The update brings higher memory ceilings and a removable storage drive to the familiar chassis design.

New hardware includes higher memory ceilings and a removable storage drive for easier upgrades.

The device targets both consumer and business users with configurations that support up to 64 GB of LPDDR5X RAM. A key hardware change involves switching from soldered modules to a user-replaceable SSD slot for easier upgrades.

Microsoft equipped the laptop with a 2,304 by 1,536 IPS display that supports a 120 Hz refresh rate and reaches 600 nits of brightness. The display's higher refresh rate provides smoother visuals than earlier base models that used 60 Hz panels.

Pricing for the base Snapdragon X2 Plus configuration starts at $1,599. It comes pre-installed with Windows 11 and offers standard connection ports found on contemporary business notebooks.
