Samsung reclaimed the top spot in the global DRAM market during the first quarter of 2026. The company reported a massive revenue surge that shifted industry rankings and altered the competitive landscape for memory manufacturers.

The quarterly results placed Samsung ahead of SK Hynix and Micron Technology. All three major vendors posted strong financial figures, while Chinese manufacturer Changxin Memory Technologies expanded its share significantly.
Samsung recorded $37.4 billion in DRAM revenue, which represents a 95.4 percent increase compared to the previous quarter. The company captured 38.6 percent of global market share, rising from 36.5 percent in earlier data.
SK Hynix held second place with a 28.8 percent market share and approximately $28 billion in revenue. Micron Technology finished third with 22.4 percent of the market and $21.7 billion in sales.
Changxin Memory Technologies nearly tripled its quarterly revenue to reach $7.3 billion. This growth pushed its market share from 4.7 percent up to 7.6 percent across the global DRAM sector.
The combined global DRAM revenue reached a record $97.1 billion, marking an 85.3 percent quarter-over-quarter increase. The financial surge reflects broader demand patterns in the memory chip industry during early 2026.
Samsung's results confirm its return to market leadership after recent competitive pressure. The quarterly data highlights significant revenue shifts among the top four global DRAM manufacturers.
