Modder InfernoPlus has released new footage showcasing the ongoing development of the Morrowind Mod for Elden Ring. The video demonstrates twenty-two minutes of gameplay, confirming that the ambitious project remains active after a six-month hiatus. The mod aims to transplant the world and narrative structure of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind into the combat framework of FromSoftware's Elden Ring.

First look at alchemy system and crime mechanics

The modder states that the world map is now complete. It features unique weather patterns and lighting conditions tailored to specific regions. Most quests and core game systems are functional, though the creator notes they remain rough around the edges. The footage also provides the first look at the mod's alchemy system.

A Crime and Punishment system is included in the build. This mechanic mirrors the original Morrowind experience. If the player commits a crime while guards are present in the area, the guards will intervene and arrest the character. This adds a layer of consequence to player actions that was central to the source material.

John Papadopoulos, who is involved in the project, expressed confidence that neither FromSoftware nor Bethesda will shut down the mod. He cited Bethesda's historically friendly relationship with the modding community as a key factor. He also noted that the modder hopes the publishers will allow the project to continue.

There is currently no estimated release date for the Morrowind Mod for Elden Ring. The modder has not provided a timeline for when the project will reach a public launch. Players interested in the mod must wait for further updates from the development team.
