NC confirms the sequel arrives exclusively on PC in September 2026 with Unreal Engine 5 visuals and a massively expanded world.

The game launches exclusively on PC and sets its story two hundred years after the original 2008 release. Players enter the world of Atreia with eight distinct classes available at launch. These options include Gladiators, Templars, Assassins, Rangers, Clerics, Sorcerers, Spiritmasters, and Chanter.

AION 2 runs on Unreal Engine 5 to power its visuals and exploration mechanics. The development team expanded the game world to thirty-six times the size of the original title. This scale shift supports a more expansive environment for players to navigate.

The sequel introduces deep character customization with over two hundred options and a dedicated Style Shop. Combat remains real-time and skill-based without auto-combat systems. Players can utilize aerial movement during battles to gain tactical advantages.

NC positioned AION 2 as a major update to the long-running franchise that began in 2008. The studio used Unreal Engine 5 to modernize the experience while retaining core gameplay elements like real-time combat and class variety.
