Valve is preparing to launch a new Steam Machine, a compact console-like gaming PC, in early 2026. The device is designed to bring PC gaming to the living room with a small form factor.

The Steam Machine uses a semi-custom AMD Zen 4 six-core CPU and an RDNA 3 GPU with 28 compute units. It comes with 16GB of DDR5 system memory and 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM. Storage options are a 512GB or 2TB NVMe SSD. The system measures 156 x 162.4 x 152mm and weighs 2.6 kg.
Pricing is estimated at 799 USD for the 512GB model and 999 USD for the 2TB version. The device is expected to launch globally in early 2026.
According to PCGamesN, the Steam Machine's GPU is close to the spec of the AMD RX 7600. A laptop RX 7600M with the same 28 CUs can achieve 60-100 fps at 1080p in modern games. The Steam Machine will rely on AMD FSR upscaling for 4K gaming, as native 4K performance is not expected.
Valve has not confirmed a firm release date or final pricing. Memory price fluctuations could affect the final cost.
