Lenovo has launched the ThinkBook 14x, a 14-inch ultraportable laptop that weighs just 990 grams. That makes it lighter than many competitors, including the company's own IdeaPad Slim 5 Ultra at 1.06 kg.

Weighs only 990 grams

The ThinkBook 14x is configurable with Intel Core Ultra 5 and Core Ultra 7 Lunar Lake processors. Options include the Core Ultra 5 226V, 228V, and Core Ultra 7 256V, 258V, 266V.

Specifications

  • Weight: 990 g
  • Dimensions: 312 x 217 x 12.9-15.6 mm
  • Processor options: Core Ultra 5 226V, Core Ultra 5 228V, Core Ultra 7 266V, Core Ultra 7 256V, Core Ultra 7 258V
  • RAM: 16 GB or 32 GB LPDDR5X-8533
  • Storage slots: M.2 2242 and M.2 2280

Memory and storage are equally flexible. The laptop offers up to 32 GB of LPDDR5X-8533 RAM and two M.2 SSD slots, one 2242 and one 2280, though only the 2242 slot is populated from the factory.

Configurable with Intel Lunar Lake processors

The display is a 14-inch 1800p OLED panel with a 120 Hz variable refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 color coverage, and peak brightness of 500 nits SDR and 1,100 nits HDR. Battery options are 54.7 Wh or 65 Wh, both supported by 65 W charging.

Port selection includes one HDMI 2.1 (4K/60 Hz), two USB Type-A (5 Gbps), two USB Type-C (10 Gbps), and a 3.5 mm combo jack. The laptop measures 312 x 217 x 12.9-15.6 mm.

Pricing is not yet official, but early retailer listings suggest a US price around $1,460 for a configuration with a Core Ultra 5 226V, 16 GB RAM, and the 1800p OLED display. Multiple sources indicate the ThinkBook 14x is the global version of the ThinkBook X AI 2026, which launched in China.

The ThinkBook 14x is available globally now. It offers a compelling mix of light weight, high-performance display, and dual storage slots in a compact chassis.
