LG has launched a 32-inch color E Ink display aimed at commercial signage. The screen uses zero power when holding a static image, making it a strong candidate for always-on information boards.

Zero power consumption for static images

The display runs a business-focused version of webOS with built-in Wi-Fi. It can be managed remotely via LG's SuperSign CMS, or users can load images manually through a standard USB drive.

Specifications

  • Resolution: 2560 x 1440 (QHD)
  • Aspect Ratio: 16:9
  • Weight: 3.1 kg
  • Thickness: 17.8 mm (tapering to 8.6 mm)
  • Battery: 72 Wh

Resolution is QHD at 2560 x 1440 with a 16:9 aspect ratio. The panel weighs 3.1 kg and measures 17.8 mm thick, tapering to 8.6 mm at its thinnest edge.

Availability in South Korea, US, and Europe

A 72 Wh battery powers the display, taking about three hours to charge from empty when the device is off. A detachable magnetic battery pack adds flexibility for placement.

LG says a custom image algorithm helps achieve natural color reproduction. The display is designed for zero power consumption when showing a static image, which could cut electricity costs for venues that run signage 24/7.

The display launches in South Korea early next month. Availability in the United States and Europe follows in July.

LG's 32-inch color E Ink display brings a large, low-power screen to commercial signage with webOS and remote management. It offers a practical alternative to traditional LCD or LED displays for static content.
