Embracer Group is restructuring its business by spinning off a majority of its gaming properties into a new standalone company named Fellowship Entertainment. The primary rationale for this corporate split is to increase management focus and accelerate value creation for the group's high-quality assets. This move aims to create an IP-led entertainment company built for growth with some of the world's most beloved franchises at its center.

Corporate split creates new entity to manage major gaming intellectual properties

Fellowship Entertainment will become the steward for major intellectual properties including The Lord of the Rings, Tomb Raider, Darksiders, Dead Island, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Metro, Remnant, and The Hobbit. A significant number of development studios are transferring to this new entity. These include 4A Games, Crystal Dynamics, Dambuster Studios, Dark Horse Media, Eidos-Montréal, Fishlabs, Flying Wild Hog Studios, Gunfire Games, Middle-earth Enterprises, Redoctane Games, and Warhorse Studios.

Embracer Group will retain a smaller portfolio of studios and intellectual properties after the spinoff. The remaining assets include THQ Nordic with its 35 studios, PLAION Partners, Milestone, Tripwire, and Vertigo Games. The group will also keep IPs such as Gothic, Killing Floor, Wreckfest, and Arizona Sunshine. Embracer states it will serve as a natural home for proven entrepreneurs and creative talents supported by enhanced governance and tighter cost control.

The company describes the new structure as designed to support disciplined capital allocation while maintaining a sizable stable of studios and gaming IPs. Fellowship Entertainment aims to build enduring momentum around its core franchises through this focused management approach.
