Grand Theft Auto VI is slowly inching closer to its launch window, as we're starting to see real-world marketing activations for the hotly anticipated sequel pop up in the city of Miami. Why is this physical presence being ushered into existence (now that we've moved from online teasers)? For one, it shows that Rockstar Games is certainly getting things ready to get hype around a big release. For buyers/fans, take note that the GTA VI marketing activations are connected to the game's setting and launch window.
Rockstar Games deploys real-world Vice City branding in Miami ahead of 2026 launch
Vice City (GTA's fictional city, which shares a similar layout and culture to Miami) is at the heart of the marketing. By incorporating in-game brands into the physical world, the team at Rockstar Games is creating a seamless blend between the in-game world and our own. With this in mind, they're clearly trying to tap into the audience that's aware of GTA's past and world.
GTA VI's marketing activities include a physical Burger Shot burger place (in-game brand from the franchise), spotted in Miami. We've seen GTA-esque promotional posters and Vice City symbolism plastered on the Kaseya Center in Miami. And then there's supercars around the streets of Miami that have been plastered in the style of Rockstar Games.

GTA VI drops on November 19, 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. So yeah, the marketing efforts of the game make sense in that regard. Giving players an actual timeline of when to expect it. It's all a way to show early glimpses of what GTA VI will look and feel like.
