Microsoft has been doing a trial run on a new subscription model for their Xbox Cloud Gaming. This is an interesting new way for gamers to utilize the service. The change is important because this allows users to avoid ads or wait times without needing to be full subscribers all month long. For people who use the service infrequently, this allows for more flexibility in paying for specific blocks of time rather than a recurring subscription that may not always be needed.
New tiered time packages remove ads and wait times for infrequent users
Microsoft’s Xbox Cloud Gaming is a game streaming service running off the Microsoft cloud service. The service allows users to stream games to compatible devices. This service is meant as a replacement for the current free ad supported service that has a wait queue. The new service is meant for users looking for immediate access and a better viewing experience.
The service is being rolled out with specific time packages for global users. The first package is a 10 hour package that costs 3.99 USD (about $3.99). The second package is a 25 hour package for 7.99 USD (about $7.99).
The third package is a 50 hour package for 11.99 USD (about $11.99). The hours purchased don’t expire and are good until you use them up.
This allows users to avoid ads and wait times on connections and stream in high quality. The testing is currently in the Xbox insider program. Next month the service will be released more widely.

Microsoft has confirmed that the time package subscription service for paid time is in testing for insiders. The service is set to be officially released next month. This is a flexible way for users to pay for only the time they’re playing games.
