DreamWorks Shrek 2 has gotten a modern remaster by Aspyr to give it a full visual upgrade. It's aimed at people who would like to experience the classic film on modern systems and who don't want to be constrained to the old visual standards. The remaster is guaranteed to run at 4K resolution for all supported platforms. So if you're looking to get your hands on that 2004 Shrek 2 sequel in high definition, you can get it in your preferred system.
Aspyr remaster brings 4K resolution and four-player co-op to Switch 2 and PC
DreamWorks Shrek 2 launches November 10 at a price of $29.99. Aspyr has got all the platforms ready. That includes the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2 and Switch.
Of course, there's also PC through Steam and Epic Games Store. That's a broad spectrum of support with all the major console generations as well as the go-to digital shops for PC. There's an option for every system you're on.
Assets have been re-built to work with the higher resolution requirements for the game. "We've rebuilt it all! Better textures, improved UI, 4K resolution and cutscenes!" the developer says. That's a pretty major visual improvement with the art staying true to its style. UI improvements should help for easier navigation too, both for old and new players.
Some of the new features in the game include a Photo Mode and Cheat Mode for even more versatility. Up to four-player couch co-op is supported. Plus, there's online multiplayer and hybrid online and couch.
This is similar to what we looked at for Castlevania as part of our Aspyr releases tracking. So, that's more options for people to play together in various ways.
DreamWorks Shrek 2 remaster is dropping November 10 with a price of 29.99 USD (or about $29.99). That means there's now a way to get that Shrek 2 experience on the latest hardware (like Switch 2) as well. It's got 4K visuals and local multiplayer support.
That gives you options for individual play and group play as well. And now that's available for purchase on all those platforms.
