Honor is preparing to launch Win RT 2, a gaming smartphone built for gamers who would rather get more battery life than slim form factors. This new phone has a massive 12,070mAh battery which solves the #1 problem for gamers when it comes to mobile gaming – battery life. This shows that Honor is aiming for a niche market where some users' current smartphone battery (flagship-level) isn't enough for their battery usage.
Honor targets mobile gamers with Win RT 2 featuring 12,070mAh battery and active cooling
For the processor, we're looking at the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. This processor would give the phone enough processing power needed for high-end mobile gaming. Honor hasn't officially announced this specific system-on-chip to be inside the Win RT 2, but we're seeing this as the likely processor of the phone as per industry expectations.
Specifications
- Battery Capacity: 12,070mAh
- Processor: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 (expected)
- Charging Speed: 90W
- Camera: Dual-camera setup
- Cooling: Active cooling (single-fan suspected)
For the camera, we're seeing a dual camera set up at the back of the phone. This is normal for modern smartphones. Even in the gaming segment.
For other technical specs, this new gaming phone is capable of 90W fast charging. This solves the problem of long charging times when you have a battery of such high capacity. We're seeing an active cooling system which is probably a single fan system to dissipate the heat while you're actively gaming. We don't know if we're getting wireless charging here since Honor hasn't confirmed wireless charging.
Honor plans to launch the Win RT 2 on October 21, 2026. It's in China. We've covered the Honor Win 2 series in previous reports about their AnTuTu performance.
This Win RT 2 seems to be an upgrade of the Honor Win 2 series. But it's focusing more on battery density and thermal management than AnTuTu performance.
The Win RT 2 is heavily leaning towards a gaming phone with such a huge battery. Active cooling also. If you're in China, you'll be buying a phone that's built to last (battery life) and stable when it comes to heat (thermal management). We'll see the price and full specs closer to the launch date which is in October.
