Vibecoded mods are out! community moderators for the sims 2 got an update for their rules to protect the playerbase against trash. This is important as it directly affects the way people find and install mods (so that you don't get modded files that crash your game) we know what will be taken down.

Moderators enforce ban on AI-generated code to prevent game crashes

They are aiming at a specific type of mod: 'vibecoded' mods. This means mods that are AI made without human inspection or editing. This type of modding is being called to produce sub-par results which are often incorrect. by the community moderators.

they say that you will be banned if you keep publishing vibecoded mods. also for The Sims 2 custom content (cc) too. The community mods say this is no longer acceptable on the platform.

They also make a distinction between 100% AI-made mods and AI-mods as a tool. the devs who are making it themselves and use AI for certain stages aren't banned. regular modders need to apply for 'modder' status to check if they are making mods themselves. The main goal of this change is to keep stability for the playerbase. They are saying that a mod needs to be made by a human in order to be acceptable quality. and the ban on vibecoded mods is a thing that is being actively enforced now.
