Intel Core 5 320 benchmarks reveal REDMI Book 16 2027 shifts to 15W efficiency

Geekbench listings reveal the REDMI Book 16 2027 will use the Intel Core 5 320 processor, shifting focus to efficiency with 15W TDP and 16 TOPS NPU.

Xiaomi is working on new generation of REDMI Book 16 laptops. And new 2027 version of laptop could be focused on efficiency more than performance. This is important as it suggests that new generation is not focused on high performance chips like in previous model. This is interesting news for the buyers who want longer battery life or cheaper access point for REDMI world.

Geekbench listings show the new laptop uses a lower-power Wildcat Lake chip instead of the previous Core Ultra 5

Let's talk about REDMI Book 16 2027 which starts to appear in Geekbench database. New laptop will come with Intel Core 5 320 processor. This is a new processor that is based on Intel Wildcat Lake chip architecture.

Let's take a quick look at specs of this Intel Core 5 320 processor. The processor is a 6 core processor. We have 2 performance cores and 4 efficient cores.

So we have 6 threads total. Performance cores could reach 4.6 Ghz in turbo mode. We also have 15 W base power limit but could go up to 35 W in turbo mode.

This processor also comes with NPU. It is ~16 TOPS processor for AI performance.

System memory setup here is 16 GB DDR5 4800 MHz RAM. That is what we expect from a modern laptop. Now we can see early benchmarks for this chip in Geekbench.

It has 2382 single core benchmark score and 8013 multi core benchmark score. So this is what we could expect from new Wildcat Lake architecture in mobile laptop form factor.

For all the database samples that we see so far we have exactly the same processor and memory specs. So it seems like Core 5 320 processor could be a main or entry level processor for REDMI Book 16 2027. This new lower power processor could hint that Xiaomi is focusing on cost cutting or making new laptops more power efficient.

Right now we know only about REDMI Book 16 2027 version of the laptop from Geekbench database and we know specs for the hardware. Xiaomi has not announced any pricing or any release dates for the laptop. So we know about a certain hardware setup in the laptop. The laptop is focused on efficiency and balanced performance for the next generation of REDMI Book 16 series.
