The Tecno Spark 50s 5G was released in India on October 20, 2026. It's aimed at the budget-minded customer who wants good battery life and the ability to stay connected. It's a mid-range phone with a big 120Hz display and a whopping 6,500 mAh battery to battle the low endurance issues that cheap phones have. It has a starting price of about $210, which is reasonable considering it prioritizes screen quality and robustness over high-end materials.

Rugged smartphone with offline messaging and MediaTek Dimensity 6400
This smartphone comes with Android 16 based HiOS 16 and the 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 6400 processor to balance out efficiency and performance for general usage and some gaming. The phone has a 6.78-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution that supports a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling. This should give a nice smooth experience while using the phone. The peak brightness goes up to 560nits, so you should still be able to see the display well in normal outdoor conditions.

It's a pretty tough phone. It has an IP64 Pro rating and MIL-STD-810H certification to withstand dust, splashes, and rough handling. Tecno says their 4×4 MIMO antenna can increase download speeds by as much as 82% compared to regular ones.
There's also something called FreeLink which lets you make voice calls, send text, and share images up to 1.5km away between compatible devices without cellular or Wi-Fi connection. We've covered the Tecno Spark 50 Pro in the past. It's all about using Sony's camera sensors. But this one is all about ruggedness and battery capacity.
The 6GB+128GB version of this phone will cost Rs 19,999 INR ($210 about) and the 8GB+128GB version will be Rs 22,999 INR ($242 about). It started selling in India on October 20, 2026. There seems to be some confusion about whether it'll only be available on Amazon or if there are offline stores selling it too. It comes with a 45W wired fast charger that should be good at charging the 6,500mAh battery.
So the Tecno Spark 50s 5G is a rugged smartphone with a big battery, all for less than $250.
