In The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, players have found an Easter egg tucked away in the game world. In particular, they have found a hidden piece of secret content in the form of a cute moment between two rabbits. The scene suggests important story information about Geralt and Keira Metz's characters. It's an interesting example of developer-to-player content that's slipped into the game world.

Developer Pawel Sasko confirms the animation was volunteer work by a friend

The scene is real, according to developer Pawel Sasko who has confirmed that during his time working on The Witcher 3, he shared a video of the scene with his friend Lucy who is an animator, and happens to have rabbits. Lucy volunteered to animate the scene for him. She did this of her own free will, and there wasn't any ask from the studio to do it.

Sasko said the rabbit animation was a hint to something that would happen with Geralt and Keira. The developer said he was pleased with the work and accepted the animation into the fabric of story in the game. So, it's an interesting glimpse into how developer collaboration can go into the narrative in a big RPG title.

CD Projekt RED is preparing a story expansion for The Witcher 3 known as Songs of the Past. This story content is intended to add more context to the existing lore in The Witcher 3 world. The rabbit scene is a one-off piece of developer-driven content tucked away in the base game.
