The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remaster gains a significant quality-of-life upgrade through a new community mod. The modification resolves a persistent issue regarding the game's primary detection system. Players who rely on Witcher Senses for exploration will now have better control over visual feedback.

WinterSense mod improves detection system with customizable visual outlines
Fan developer invernoswelt released a modification called WinterSense for the remastered title. The mod targets the Witcher Senses mechanic, which Geralt uses to track enemies and find items. CD Projekt RED did not implement these specific visual improvements in the official remaster release.
WinterSense allows users to customize the appearance of sense indicators with precision. You can adjust the thickness, softness, transparency, and color of the outlines. The mod also introduces an 'Instant' mode that displays effects immediately without delay. The adjustment allows players to respond more quickly during combat or exploration phases.
The modification changes how senses behave during specific gameplay actions. Earlier versions of the mechanic caused indicators to fade or reset while collecting items. The new version allows senses to remain active while you pick up items. This persistent behavior minimizes the requirement to repeatedly re-activate the ability to track targets.
