Infinity Ward made the announcement on October 9, 2026. The studio is rolling out early access to the DMZ game mode for Modern Warfare 4. This move follows a previous week where they shared limited intelligence about the mode.

Early access begins on October 20 for all regions. The developer stated that a week of DMZ only scratched the surface. They added that the rest of the content is now available for players to discover.

We saw balance and stability themes in the last Modern Warfare 4 update. Those same concerns appear to carry over into this early access period. Players should expect to test these systems before the general public joins.

The full launch date for the game remains later in the month. Early access provides a chance to explore the Hajin map setting. Players can join the action starting October 20.
