The Horadric Cube crafting system in Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred is driving a surge in the value of blue magic items, with some selling for billions of gold.

Blue magic items with greater affixes are now trading for billions of gold. Rare items with three to four greater affixes can reach 100 billion gold. One example is an ancestral magic amulet with critical hit chance and critical hit damage that sold for 12 billion gold.

The Horadric Cube crafting system introduced in the Lord of Hatred expansion has transformed the in-game economy by allowing players to reroll affixes on items, making even common blue items highly valuable if they roll the right stats.

According to Icy Veins and diablo.trade, the market for high-roll magic and rare items has exploded. Blizzard Entertainment has not commented on the economic shift.
