A new survival horror title called Laica is coming to PC, offering a distinct blend of cozy cohabitation and cosmic dread. Players will manage a relationship with a mysterious girl named Laica while uncovering dark secrets in a decaying space station. This dual-nature gameplay loop aims to balance emotional bonding with intense survival mechanics.

Santa Studio reveals Laica, a first-person survival horror game blending cozy cohabitation with cosmic dread
Santa Studio, a subsidiary of Santa Sunrise, developed the game alongside publisher ambr. Laica runs on Unreal Engine 5 and features first-person 3D visuals set aboard a drifting habitat called HOME. The narrative centers on the player living with Laica, who exists entirely alone in this isolated environment.
Gameplay alternates between quiet daily routines and dangerous exploration of creature-infested zones. Players share meals, listen to music, and float through zero gravity with Laica during peaceful moments. Conversely, they must navigate a rotting world where darkness hides threats that slowly consume the station and Laica herself.
Laica will launch for PC via Steam in spring 2027. The story asks who Laica is and why the player is present as the boundary between the safe home and the dangerous dark blurs. Building a bond with the character is essential to reaching the truth hidden in the void.
