A community modder has changed how players experience The Last of Us Part II Remastered by adding a toggleable first-person camera. This update matters because it lets players see the game through the protagonist's eyes, a perspective shift that fundamentally alters navigation and combat. Players on PC can now access this view without waiting for an official update from the developers.

Modder MrGuiga releases free first-person camera for PC players
The modification was released by a modder known as MrGuiga on Nexus Mods. It applies to version v1.6.10721.0105 of the game. The modder built the tool to work seamlessly with both the main story campaign and the challenging No Return mode. Users can activate the feature at any time during gameplay.
Activating the first-person view requires pressing the F5 key while playing. MrGuiga noted that the camera is tied directly to the character's head, which causes the head to sway noticeably during movement. The camera's physical movement adds a layer of realism that some players find immersive. The toggle function remains available throughout the entire game session.
Players have reported that the mod looks like an official feature included by the developers. The first-person perspective increases difficulty because it limits the player's field of view during combat. MrGuiga is currently collecting feedback from users who play with a gamepad to improve compatibility. The mod remains available for free download on Nexus Mods.
