Collectors of the Robocop franchise get a major upgrade with Hot Toys' latest updates to their 1/6 scale figures. The studio has replaced the static lighting on the villain Robo-Cain with a dynamic screen that brings the character to life. This change shifts the figure from a static display piece to an interactive collector's item that responds to its environment.

Magnetic sensor in Nuke container activates screen

The update focuses on the 1/6 scale Robo-Cain figure from Robocop 2. Hot Toys swapped the standard LED backlighting for a full-fledged USB-powered LED display. This new screen replaces the previous passive lighting setup with active video playback capabilities.

The new display comes pre-loaded with three video clips. These clips show Robo-Cain's digitized face and scenes of his destruction. The figure also includes two interchangeable head and neck modules. One module features a movable head for posing, while the second supports the new display technology.

Hot Toys added a magnetic sensor to Robocop's "Nuke" container accessory. When you bring this container near Robo-Cain, the sensor triggers the screen. The display instantly activates and begins playing the pre-installed video clips. This interaction creates a direct link between the hero and villain figures.
