Rockstar Games fans can now explore the previously locked Mexican territories in Red Dead Redemption 2 without spending a dime. This free mod opens up a massive new area of the game world that was originally inaccessible during the base game's release. Players who want to extend their playtime on PC have a substantial new frontier to conquer right now.
Nuevo Paraíso mod expands map with three new regions and restored settlements
The expansion is titled Nuevo Paraíso – The Forgotten Frontier and it runs exclusively on the PC platform. It was created by NexusMods user Rixus724 and distributed freely through the NexusMods community hub. The mod transforms the game by making the Mexican region fully playable rather than just a loading screen backdrop.
The update adds three major new regions to the map including Diez Coronas, Perdido, and Punta Orgullo. It also restores several settlements from the original Red Dead Redemption such as Escalera, Chuparosa, Casa Madrugada, and Las Hermanas. A new railway connects these areas directly to the existing New Austin region for easier travel.
New gameplay activities fill the expanded world including treasure hunts, bounty hunting, smuggling routes, and train robberies. The mod also introduces new wildlife species to the Mexican ecosystem to enhance immersion. Players should be aware that the community has reported various bugs and glitches within the new content.
