Capcom is turning a quiet train station in Nara into a living Street Fighter 6 stage. This unusual marketing push brings the game's iconic fighters to daily commuters in Japan. Players who travel through the area will see the characters integrated into the local transit infrastructure.
Capcom decorates Nara stations with murals and voiceovers until 2027
The collaboration centers on Yamato-Yagi Station and the adjacent Kashiharajingu-mae Station. The north plaza now features a large mural displaying the game's character selection screen. A custom 'Kashihara x Street Fighter' logo anchors the visual theme at the site.
Japanese voice actors Hiroki Takahashi and Fumiko Orikasa recorded original messages for the campaign. Their voices, as Ryu and Chun-Li, promote local sightseeing rather than just the game. Themed audio announcements play every 20 minutes between 9am and 6pm at both stations.
Travelers can purchase limited-edition commemorative admission ticket sets at either station. Each set includes holders that combine with others to form a complete image. These physical collectibles serve as a tangible link to the virtual world of the fighting game.
Capcom priced the ticket sets at 1080 JPY (around $6.86) at Yamato-Yagi Station. Another 1000 sets are available at Kashiharajingu-mae Station for 720 JPY (around $4.57). The pricing difference reflects the specific inventory allocated to each location.
This promotional event runs until July 30, 2027. The long duration suggests a sustained effort to integrate the IP into the region's tourism strategy. Fans visiting Nara Prefecture can experience the crossover well into the future.
We have tracked Street Fighter 6 closely, including recent updates like the Street Fighter 6 Update Adds Yasmine, which changed the roster balance. This station takeover represents a different kind of evolution for the franchise's public presence.
