Players launching the new tactical shooter War Dogs faced immediate connectivity hurdles on day one. Bulkhead pushed a mandatory hotfix to PC early access users just hours after the September 10 launch. This update addresses server instability that prevented many from joining matches or kept them connected during gameplay.

Mandatory 200 MB update resolves connection drops and login delays

War Dogs is a 100-player shooter designed for large-scale tactical combat on PC. The game launched into early access on September 10, 2024. Bulkhead, the developer behind the title, released the patch to stabilize the initial player influx.

The hotfix download size exceeds 200 MB. Bulkhead stated the client update targets three specific technical failures. Players reported being unable to join servers or getting unexpectedly kicked during matches. Extended login queue times also plagued the initial launch window.

Bulkhead explained that the hotfix resolves the login queue delays and connection drops. The developer is restarting servers in controlled batches to manage the load. Console versions of the game remain unavailable until 2028. PC players must restart their clients to apply the 200+ MB patch.
