We see this model now listed in Canada for over $1,000, which makes it a hard sell against cheaper alternatives. Buyers looking for a budget-friendly laptop should look elsewhere, as the cost is too high for the performance gains offered.

New Intel chip replaces older parts in refreshed laptop

The laptop features the Intel Core 7 350 processor from the Wildcat Lake family. This chip replaces the older Raptor Lake parts in the previous version of the device. The system also includes 8GB of single-channel DDR5 RAM and a 512GB PCIe 4.0 SSD. These components form the core of the base configuration available in stores.

Notebookcheck benchmarks show the Core 7 350 is slightly faster and more efficient than the outgoing Core 7 150U. However, the same source notes that the Apple M5 chip outperforms the Intel processor significantly. Asus has started rolling out the refreshed Vivobook 15 (X1504) with Intel's Wildcat Lake processors to replace the previous Raptor Lake-powered variant.
