Unofficial native port allows players to run the classic game without emulation software
Developer MatheoVignaud created the port and distributed it via GitHub. The project does not include any game assets, so users must source a ROM file separately. The port supports ROM versions from the US, EU, and JP regions.
The port is available globally on GitHub immediately. No pricing is associated with this distribution as it is a free community project. Users can access the software directly through the developer's repository without any financial transaction.
The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap serves as a prequel to Four Swords. The original game introduced mechanics where players shrink to Minish size to explore hidden areas. This new port brings those specific gameplay elements to the PC platform for the first time natively.
Nintendo has not officially endorsed this PC port or the development work by MatheoVignaud. The release exists solely as an unofficial community effort shared through open-source channels.
