HoYoverse released a hotfix for Genshin Impact Version 7.0 'Everwinter Without Mercy' on August 12 to address critical progression blockers and visual bugs. Players stuck in the Snezhnaya Archon Quest can now continue their story without losing progress. This update resolves a soft-lock issue that previously halted gameplay for those exploring the region.
HoYoverse adds respawnable resource to prevent Archon Quest soft-lock
The fix introduces a respawnable Prime Ice Construct in Snezhnaya's exploration zones. HoYoverse added an extra Prime Ice location that players can destroy repeatedly to ensure usable resources are always available. This change prevents the scene from becoming unwinnable due to missing items.
HoYoverse also normalized the spawn density of Prime Ice Constructs to reduce screen clutter. The studio lowered how often accompanying icons and text signs pop up during exploration. A separate bug on Android devices that caused abnormal facial patterns for Sandrone and Mitya during dialogue is now fixed.
PC users with Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics may still experience abnormal screen flickering when entering Snezhnaya. HoYoverse has not provided a specific fix date for this issue and advises affected players to update their graphics drivers as a workaround. A cosmetic bug showing the wrong elemental icon for Mitya in the 'Wraith's Nocturne' cutscene remains pending.
We looked at the last Genshin Impact update earlier while tracking the game's ongoing stability improvements. This hotfix prioritizes essential gameplay flow over minor visual polish. The studio continues to address core functionality issues before tackling remaining cosmetic defects.
