has improved the responsiveness of its GeForce NOW cloud gaming service for users. The company released a stable version of the desktop app that officially leaves the beta phase. This update matters because it allows users on supported Linux distributions to stream games with lower input lag and higher visual fidelity. Buyers who rely on Linux for gaming can now access these performance gains without waiting for further stability fixes.

NVIDIA GeForce NOW interface on Linux
The GeForce NOW Linux app is now stable.

Stable Linux client arrives with reduced input lag for 1440p and 4K streaming

The new stable app supports Ubuntu 24.04 and later versions of the operating system. NVIDIA optimized on the cloud platform to reduce latency during streaming sessions. These optimizations target resolutions of 1440p and 4K at refresh rates of 60 or 120 FPS. The changes make the games feel more responsive to player inputs compared to previous beta builds.

NVIDIA also made server-side improvements for members of the Performance tier. These cloud-side optimizations specifically target CPU-intensive games that previously struggled with performance. The company stated that GeForce NOW is getting an upgrade this week with the interactive Linux app officially leaving beta. This server adjustment complements the client-side latency reductions for a smoother overall experience.

The stable Linux application is now available for download via the official GeForce NOW website. This release coincides with the addition of eight new titles to the service library. The new additions include Hell Let Loose: Vietnam and the Monster Hunter Wilds Prologue Demo. Users can install the updated client immediately to access these games and the new performance features.
