Arma Reforger players can now access the game through the Microsoft Store, which opens the title to Xbox Play Anywhere users. This update removes the barrier for console owners who prefer the Microsoft ecosystem over the client. The change expands the player base and simplifies cross-play management for those who own the game on multiple platforms.

Bohemia Interactive releases major patch with Xbox Play Anywhere support

Bohemia Interactive released major update 1.8 for the tactical shooter on August 13, 2024. The patch brings the console version to build 1.080.010, aligning it with the latest stability improvements. Players on PC and consoles receive the same core gameplay adjustments and performance fixes in this release.

The update addresses significant stability issues by resolving crashes and patching memory leaks. Gameplay changes include new visibility rules where grass and camouflage now block AI line of sight. Developers also added deployable razor wires and adjusted recoil patterns for vehicles and turrets.

Modding support receives a boost with expanded API functions and new navmesh properties. The Microsoft Store version does not include the Arma Reforger Tools Workbench for local mod creation. Handheld devices running the game cannot host local servers, limiting multiplayer options on portable hardware.

We looked at the last Arma Reforger update earlier while tracking stability themes, and this release continues that focus on performance. The patch notes confirm the technical fixes and new platform availability. Players can now download the update directly from the Microsoft Store if they prefer that launcher.
