Alldocube is reshuffling its budget tablet lineup by relaunching the iPlay 80 Mini Pro as the iPlay Mini 4 in the Chinese market. This rebranding gives buyers a fresh name for a device that already offers solid value for casual media consumption and light productivity. This approach demonstrates how manufacturers frequently reuse established hardware designs with minor naming changes to refresh product cycles.

Rebranded compact tablet ships with Unisoc processor and 4G connectivity

The iPlay Mini 4 centers on an 8.4-inch LCD panel that delivers a 1920 x 1200 resolution at a 90Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the tablet runs on the Unisoc T7300 octa-core processor paired with 8GB of RAM. This configuration targets users who need a compact Android device for reading, web browsing, and video streaming without demanding high-end gaming performance.

Specifications

  • Display Size: 8.4-inch
  • Display Resolution: 1920 x 1200
  • Refresh Rate: 90Hz
  • Processor: Unisoc T7300
  • RAM: 8GB

Storage capacity sits at 128GB of expandable UFS memory, which provides ample space for apps and media files. The device houses a 6,050mAh battery that supports up to 18W charging via Power Delivery. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, and dual SIM 4G support for mobile data access.

Physical dimensions keep the tablet manageable at 7.3mm thick and 300 grams in weight. It runs Alldocube OS 5.0L on top of Android 16, offering a modern software experience. The rear camera is a 13MP sensor, while the front faces a 5MP lens for video calls. This hardware mix ensures the device remains lightweight and portable for on-the-go use.

The iPlay Mini 4 launches in China on August 15 for CNY 999 (around $148). International buyers can already purchase the equivalent hardware on AliExpress for $155.02. This pricing structure makes the tablet an accessible option for students or travelers needing a secondary device.

The iPlay 80 Mini Pro was previously reviewed during coverage of Alldocube's compact tablet releases. The international release under the new name is surprising since the exact same specs are already sold outside China as the iPlay 80 Mini Pro. This dual-naming strategy enables Alldocube to maintain separate product identities in different regions without altering the underlying hardware.

The iPlay Mini 4 confirms Alldocube's continued focus on affordable, compact Android tablets. Buyers in China get the new branding and local support, while international users retain access to the same hardware through AliExpress. The device offers a complete package of display, performance, and connectivity features at a budget price point.
