Remake adds RPG progression and new characters to classic shooter

The remake introduces two new characters, Luik and Teresa, to the roster. It also adds a new world that connects the game to other titles in the RS34 shooter universe. The gameplay retains its core shoot 'em up action but adds RPG-style progression and equipment leveling. This blend of genres aims to provide a deeper experience than the original handheld release.

  • Release Date (PC): March 2027
  • Edition Price: 12,800 yen
  • Edition Contents: Game copy, bonus CD, 36-page art book, four postcards, acrylic stand

The game will launch in Japan in January 2027 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. A version for PC via Steam will follow in March 2027. The PS5 and Switch versions will be available in both physical and digital formats. The PS4 version will be digital-only. A crowdfunding campaign on Campfire begins on August 8, seeking 2.5 million yen.

A limited 'Bird's View Edition' will cost 12,800 JPY (around $81.21). This edition includes the game, a bonus CD, a 36-page art book, four postcards, and an acrylic stand. The crowdfunding goal increases to 2.8 million yen if the PC version is unlocked. This tiered release strategy allows players to choose their preferred platform and format.

RS34 is using this remake to bridge its older 3DS title with its current shooter lineup. The addition of new characters and world elements suggests a broader narrative connection. Players can expect a hybrid of fast-paced action and strategic character growth. The January 2027 console launch sets a clear timeline for early adopters.
