Huawei launches the MatePad Pro 12- inch tablet with a 1,600- nit OLED display and Kirin T93 chip. Prices start around $843 for the Enjoyment Edition in China.

Huawei has released the MatePad Pro 12-inch tablet in China, offering a high-resolution OLED screen and a new chipset lineup for users seeking a premium Android experience. The launch introduces two distinct hardware tiers, allowing buyers to choose between standard performance and a budget-friendly option without sacrificing the core display quality. This split strategy gives consumers flexibility in how they configure their device based on whether they need advanced camera features or just solid daily productivity.

Standard and Enjoyment models share OLED panel with Kirin T93 silicon

The device comes in two main variants: the standard MatePad Pro and the lower-priced Enjoyment Edition. Both models share the same 12-inch OLED panel, which delivers a resolution of 3,036 by 1,952 pixels and reaches a peak brightness of 1,600 nits. The standard model distinguishes itself with the Kirin T93 chipset, while the Enjoyment Edition relies on the Kirin T93A processor. Huawei has not provided specific performance benchmarks to explain the real-world differences between these two silicon options.

Specifications

  • Display: 12-inch OLED, 3,036 x 1,952 pixels, 93% screen-to-body ratio, 3.55mm bezels, 1,600 nits peak brightness
  • Chipset (Standard): Kirin T93
  • Chipset (Enjoyment Edition): Kirin T93A
  • Rear Camera: 50MP, f/1.8 aperture, LED flash
  • Front Camera: 12MP

Technical specifications highlight a robust connectivity suite and power management system. The tablet supports Bluetooth 6.0, dual-band Wi-Fi, and includes a USB 3.1 Gen 1 port with DisplayPort 1.2 output for external displays. Power comes from a 10,400mAh dual-cell battery that ships with a 66W adapter and supports up to 40W of wired reverse charging for other devices. The standard model also features a Red Maple multispectral color sensor and 4K video recording capabilities, which are absent in the Enjoyment Edition.

Pricing for the MatePad Pro 12-inch starts at CNY 5,699 (around $843) for the base Enjoyment Edition with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The standard model begins at CNY 5,999 (around $887) for the same storage configuration. Configurations with the Soft Light display option or bundled keyboards range from CNY 6,499 (around $961) to CNY 9,199 (around $1,360). Both versions are available for pre-order now and begin shipping on August 14, 2026.

We looked at Huawei MateBook Fold 2026 Launches With in our earlier Huawei coverage, noting the company's continued push into high-end hardware this year. The MatePad Pro 12-inch runs HarmonyOS 6.1 and measures 4.7mm thick, weighing 439g for the standard version and 454g for the Soft Light variant. Buyers in China can now select their preferred chip and display finish to match their specific workflow needs.
