Samsung is preparing to release the Galaxy S26 FE, and the leaked specifications suggest buyers will see very little improvement over the previous model. The camera hardware remains largely unchanged, which matters for users expecting a refresh in photo quality. The lack of significant improvements in key camera hardware may deter users who expect meaningful upgrades with each FE release.

The device features a triple-camera array that mirrors the configuration of the Galaxy S25 FE. The main shooter uses a 50 MP Samsung Isocell S5KGN3 sensor with a 1/1.57-inch format and an f/1.8 aperture. Samsung reportedly retains the tiny 8 MP OmniVision OV08A1 sensor for the telephoto lens, which sits in a smaller 1/4.4-inch format. This telephoto unit offers 3x optical zoom, an f/2.4 aperture, and optical image stabilization.

Galaxy S26 FE Specifications

  • Main Camera Sensor: 50 MP Samsung Isocell S5KGN3 (1/1.57-inch)
  • Telephoto Camera Sensor: 8 MP OmniVision OV08A1 (1/4.4-inch)
  • Telephoto Lens Specs: 3x optical zoom, f/2.4 aperture, OIS
  • Ultra-wide Camera: 12 MP
  • Selfie Camera: 12 MP

Beyond the main and telephoto lenses, the phone includes a 12 MP ultra-wide camera and a 12 MP selfie camera. We have not yet confirmed which of these two cameras uses the GalaxyCore GC12A2 sensor versus the Sony IMX825 sensor. The pricing structure in Europe also shows a clear upward trend for this generation. The 128 GB base model costs 799 EUR (around $913), while the 256 GB version rises to 899 EUR (around $1,027).

The top-tier 512 GB model costs 1,099 EUR (around $1,255), reflecting a significant price hike compared to the previous generation. Samsung expects to unveil the Galaxy S26 FE in just a few weeks from early September 2026. The leaked data confirms a modest hardware refresh with higher prices and minimal camera changes. Consumers may need to consider whether the higher costs for additional storage are justified given the unchanged sensor specifications. The device is expected to launch globally shortly after early September 2026.
