They compared the faulty boards against a working GIGABYTE card and an Inno3D RTX 4060 to isolate the problem. The analysis revealed that the issue is internal to the card's power delivery system rather than an external connection fault.
The core technical failure lies in the VRM current-sense network. The resistor and capacitor values across the four feedback paths feeding the PWM controller were inconsistent. This inconsistency caused uneven load balancing across the VRM phases. One MOSFET became overloaded while the others remained within specifications. The overloaded component eventually shorted and burned, creating heavy carbonization on the PCB near the HDMI output.
