GMKtec is bringing desktop-class processors and graphics cards into a single compact chassis with the new Neo-X1 series. This approach matters because it lets PC builders and gamers use high-performance mobile CPUs paired with full-sized desktop GPUs, which typically do not fit together in standard small form factor cases. Buyers looking for a powerful yet space-efficient gaming rig should pay attention to this configuration.

Hybrid desktops pair mobile CPUs with full-size graphics cards

The lineup includes two distinct models: the standard Neo-X1 and the Neo-X1 Pro. Both systems rely on AMD's Mobile on Desktop (MoDT) architecture, which adapts laptop processors for desktop motherboards. The standard Neo-X1 pairs the AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX processor with an Nvidia RTX 5060Ti 8G desktop GPU. The Pro model upgrades the CPU to the Ryzen 9 9955HX3D, which includes 64MB of 3D V-Cache, and pairs it with an Nvidia RTX 5070 12GB desktop GPU.

Spec Neo-X1 Neo-X1 Pro
CPU AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX3D
GPU Nvidia RTX 5060Ti 8G Nvidia RTX 5070 12GB
Starting Price around $1,771 around $2,509

GMKtec equips both desktops with a liquid cooler installed directly on the CPU to manage heat. The company states that this cooling setup allows the AMD processors to deliver up to 160W of performance. Each system comes with an 850W Gold power supply unit to handle the power demands of the high-end components. Memory configurations support up to 64GB of DDR5 RAM, and storage options include two M.2 slots for SSDs.

GMKtec claims that the Pro model's combination of the 3D V-Cache CPU and RTX 5070 GPU makes the system capable of handling most games at QHD resolution. The standard Neo-X1 starts at CNY 11,999 (around $1,771). The Neo-X1 Pro is set to launch with a starting price of CNY 16,999 (around $2,509). GMKtec did not share a specific launch date for these computers.

We tracked the Neo-X1 series as part of our coverage of emerging hybrid desktop platforms. The Neo-X1 series offers a distinct alternative to traditional desktop towers by integrating mobile processors with desktop graphics cards. These systems provide a verified path to high-performance gaming in a compact form factor once availability details are confirmed.
