IO Interactive has shared new details about its upcoming James Bond game, 007: First Light. The game is set to release in the last week of May 2026.
Developers praise Patrick Gibson's performance
Senior combat designer Tom Marcham said that differing opinions on the portrayal of Bond are a positive sign. Narrative director Martin Emborg praised actor Patrick Gibson's performance, calling him charismatic and likable.
007: First Light will launch globally in the last week of May 2026. It will be the first Bond console game in over a decade.
The developers welcome fan debate about the character. Marcham noted that if no one had opinions on the Bond portrayal, it would be the dullest Bond ever made. Emborg added that Gibson's charisma grows on players over time.
Eurogamer reported the comments. IO Interactive has not confirmed additional details about the game's content or platforms.
