IO Interactive has announced that 007 First Light will launch on May 27, 2026. The game is a new James Bond title developed by the studio behind the Hitman series.

Sequel hinges on community reception

CEO Hakan Abrak stated that a sequel to 007 First Light depends on community reception and sales. He noted that both IO Interactive and Amazon MGM want to see how the character is received before committing to further games.

Abrak expressed confidence in Amazon MGM's support for the project. He said that after playing the game, Amazon became huge supporters of the title.

The developer emphasized that the studio is in a position to choose its projects. Abrak said that if the game goes well and is beloved by the community, a sequel is a possibility.

The Game Business reported the comments from IO Interactive's CEO. The company has not confirmed any plans beyond the initial release.
