PC gamers running low on storage just got a practical fix for one of the most demanding titles on the market. Kuro Games introduced a tiered download system for Wuthering Waves that lets players choose how much space their installation occupies. This change matters because it gives users control over their SSD usage without forcing a full download if disk space is tight.

Kuro Games introduces three-tier download system to reduce SSD usage
The new system breaks the game into three distinct quality tiers: SD, HD, and UHD. Players can now select the package that matches their hardware capabilities and storage constraints. The SD package targets users with limited space, while the UHD package retains the highest fidelity for those with ample storage.
The SD package reduces the total installation size to 57.8 GB by using compressed videos and lower quality textures. The HD package sits in the middle at 80 GB, and the UHD package remains at the full 99 GB. This three-tier structure allows players to balance visual fidelity against disk space requirements.
Currently, the SD option is available only in a separate Wuthering Waves client. The Steam version 3.7 currently only offers the HD package. Players on Steam will need to wait for update 3.8, which should arrive in about two months, to access the full range of options.
When we covered the last Wuthering Waves update, several of the same balance and stability themes came up. The new storage options complement previous changes by giving players more control over their experience. The game now offers flexibility in how it is installed and run on PC.
