Kraken Express stated that hidden within these ruins lies the power of the Obol, a force that has ravaged the area and increased the threat level. This setting serves as the backdrop for new factions, enemies, items, resources, and recipes that players will encounter.

Ship combat and AI systems are receiving notable improvements to support the expanded gameplay. The update will introduce at least one new ship class, with the brigantine, fluyt, and galleon currently in development. Base building features are also being enhanced with new decorations and quality-of-life changes to help players manage their settlements more effectively.
