Fahrenheit 213 is narrowing the scope of its upcoming title TSURUGIHIME to focus exclusively on combat mechanics. This tight constraint matters because it signals that the developer prioritizes battle system integrity over narrative or exploration features at this stage. Buyers and players should expect a highly specialized test environment rather than a full game preview.
Fahrenheit 213 limits access to 100 players for combat testing
The studio announced a combat-focused closed beta test for TSURUGIHIME that will run from August 25 to September 6. The test is limited to 100 players worldwide and will be distributed via Steam on PC. This limited access ensures that feedback remains manageable and directly tied to specific gameplay loops.
The beta build isolates the battle system by removing story, exploration, and progression elements. Players will engage in a five-minute survival mode featuring endless enemy spawns designed for scoring. This structure allows the team to evaluate combat balance and responsiveness without the distraction of other game systems.
Director Yosuke Shiokawa explained the rationale behind the narrow scope in a press release. He stated, "We move into full production soon, and before that happens I want the combat to be airtight. That is the whole reason this test is as narrow as it is—it is only the battle system, because that is the part I need people to be honest with me about." This direct feedback loop aims to refine the core mechanics before the full production phase begins.
TSURUGIHIME is scheduled for Early Access on PC via Steam in 2026. The current beta serves as a critical checkpoint to validate the game's primary combat systems before wider development continues. Players interested in the title can prepare for a long wait, but the focused testing approach suggests a deliberate development pace.
